This salvaged log came from a fallen tree in the rainforest in Costa Rica. We sand these and kiln dry the wood. Monkeypod is a medium density wood that is very similar to figured black walnut. The monkeypod wood has a lighter, white colored sapwood on the outside and a darker brown heartwood on the inside. People really love this multi-hued look.

This base is 12 to 12 inches in diameter and 18 inches tall.
